Elizabeth

Hello From Elizabeth

Welcome to my artist page. Who am I? Hmmmmm, in less words, I am a singer, harpist, writer and doll artist. I see it as the North, South, East and West of my sanctum of being an artist.  No matter how different they are from each other, or if one is more prominent at the time than the other directions, they have a complete impact on each another. One that is quiet and is not engaged as much, still has a lot to offer, in the form of a spring board of inspiration.

But My Purpose

I want to sing as a studio artist. From recording demos, singing inflections on music, other than my own, to singing on a track for a film for children, fantasy films with an orchestra. That is the journey, I aim to be on.

To engage my work as an artist, I sing as a cantor for my church (singing at weddings and funerals) I sing for joyous occasions, and I sing to offer comfort, so that others know that God is always near.

I play harp at Christmas time for my church, and at private events.  I sing in a country/Rock/R&B band with about ten other singers and musicians, playing in local establishments.

Style of Singing

My voice is soprano, and I do have the ability to sing in contralto. Don't believe it? Listen to Sure Like The Moe

I classify my own music as Eclectic New Age, in that I look to merge vocal sounds that are meditative, ethereal, to vocal sounds that are soulful and deep. I would say the singers that I vocally relate to is the sisters of the Emotions, Sister Sledge, Patty Smyth, Tori Amos, Corinne Drewery (Swing Out Sister) Enya, Loreena McKennitt.

Singers who I admire, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Tramaine Hawkins and more.

A Dream of Mine

One day I hope to create my own band, singing originals and covers, in places like Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and in my local area, of Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, NY and at the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck NY. The band consist of two harpist, myself and my friend and teacher, a singer, my sister friend, a cellist, a flutist, a violist, a stand up or upright bassist, percussionist.

I'm a Writer And Doll Artist

Staying fresh of mind, I like to engage in other activities, such as crafting, painting. I do this with writing. I write stories, to either capture a feeling, or just talk and describe something that may or may not be of interest to anyone. I just enjoy it. I use to write as New York Doll Examiner for the now defunct Examiner.com. I wrote about dolls, mostly on the art spectrum.

Love creating doll art myself. See some examples here

More To  Come!

All the best,
